Client Agreement
ABOUT ME: I am a highly experienced Integrative Counsellor supporting individual clients through their experiences of emotional ,physical and sexual abuse, ADHD and Autism, domestic violence, dissociation, CSE, and County lines, childhood trauma , depression and psycho sexual issues and relationship problems . I work in private practice and in schools offering face to face counselling, telephone counselling and online counselling. My practice is inclusive; supporting clients of diverse backgrounds, gender, ethnicity, disability, age and sexuality.
REGISTERED BODIES: I am a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
LENGTH OF SESSIONS: Sessions last for 60 mins and you will usually meet with me on a weekly basis.
LENGTH OF COTRACT: It is dependent on your goals, and can be agreed at the assessment session. You are entitled to end their process at any time. I always recommend undertaking an ending session should you wish to conclude your sessions.
PAYMENT OF FEES: Sessions are £45.00 (unless it’s a special offer) . Payment can be made by bank transfer or Paypal prior to each session. My bank details are Miss S Semper Sort code 40-39-05 account number 61182137.(HSBC bank)
RESCHEDULING A SESSION: I operate a 24-hour cancellation policy, this can be done be sending a text message. LATE CANCELLATION/DID NOT ATTEND: The full fee will be charged if you do not provide notice via text 24hrs prior to the session time. This also applies if you do not attend the session without cancelling.
PERSONAL SAFETY: Supporting your safety online is both collaborative and sensitive, as such if the call disconnects during your session time, I will wait 2/3 minutes and attempt to call back once. If you do not answer I will remain available for the duration of your sessions time should you want to call me back. If at any time your privacy or safety is compromised you are welcome to just hang up. If you are not at your usual location please text 10 minutes prior to the session to inform me and provide a location address or map ping, this is in case you experience an emergency and I need to send you some assistance.
CONFIDENTIALITY: I take your confidentiality very seriously. To ensure the safety of all parties involved, any harm to yourself, myself or others, or in case of children being involved, confidentiality will be breached and further disclosures, with the client's knowledge, will need to be made. In all other cases, everything discussed in the room is completely confidential. In some cases, such as terrorism, by law I must report it without the client’s consent. In addition, if you have been prescribed medication in the past, or are currently using medication for mental health issues, I will need to have your GP and Psychiatrist details. I am a registered Data Controller with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO)
SUPERVISION: In line with the BACP guidelines I undertake monthly supervision. Supervision allows counsellors an opportunity to reflect, explore and gain insight to ensure they are working ethically, safely and competently. During supervision clients are referred to by their first names only to protect confidentiality
LOCATION: I use free software for the sessions, which is called Zoom. If this is your preferred option, I will provide you with a hyperlink to download the free software which is encrypted. I would also suggest that you do not reveal your full name or any personal address details etc whilst we are engaged in online counselling appointments as this helps to maintain the privacy of your sessions. Please be in a quiet, confidential space where you feel comfortable and will not be interrupted or overheard. -In this case we have agreed to use Whatsapp video calling facility.
TIMEKEEPING: I ask that you keep your sessions within the allocated time as you will still be seen at your appointment time. If you do arrive early Zoom will allow you into the online waiting room.
CONTACT BETWEEN SESSIONS:Contact in between sessions should be limited to practical arrangements only. I do not accept personal social media friend requests.
REPORTS/ LEGAL PROCEDURES: I do not offer any report writing or recommendations as part of my service.
LIMITS FOR COUNSELLING: It is not acceptable to attend counselling sessions whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs or to harm yourself in any way during the sessions. Please could you inform me if you taking any prescribed medication. I do not offer medical advice; if you need medical assistance or support please refer to your GP. To work safely I would not offer counselling sessions with a client who is seeing another therapist. If you were to be offered therapy by another counsellor please inform me so we can discuss and explore the options. I ask that all electronic devices including mobile phones are turned off at the beginning of each counselling session.
