Hi Im Sarah, I am a highly experienced professional Counsellor working for over 12years with children and adults of all ages. My expertise with children, parents, and families encompasses such things as Domestic abuse and Domestic violence, anxiety ,depression and general low mood disorder, childhood sexual abuse.
I began voluntary work for Kids Company in 2008 but was soon asked to work full-time. My work has been with children of all ages, initially focused on the early years. I am familiar in dealing with children, parents and families, involving emotional and physical abuse, mental health problems including ADHD & Autism, domestic violence, immigration issues, and was a member of KC’s “Right to Health Panel”, a small group of professionals giving advice to Keyworkers about the most complex cases. In addition to my professional qualifications (see below) I have undertaken many training courses with KC including Therapeutic Childcare, Trauma Effects on the brain, ADHD, Child Protection, and Immigration issues.
2016-2018 I worked as a family support worker and counsellor at a Primary school
Developing the new Family Support role for school working closely with the Head Teacher and Inclusion Manager within a safeguarding capacity. My role was to work with the most vulnerable families who were known to social services for a variety of reasons. I liaised closely with the Police, Schools, Children's Services and local charities to improve outcomes for the children and their families. I saw a number of children in the school for one to one counselling sessions as well as co-ordinating children’s friendship and social groups to target issues such as bullying and low self-esteem. I also ran regular drop in clinics for parents at the school.
2018-present I work as a full time school counsellor within a large secondary school . I hold weekly counselling sessions with 18 young people experiencing complex trauma . I work interactively and inclusively . I set up and run a drop in clinic across the school for students needing a one off therapeutic offloading space as well as being a designated safeguarding lead for the school

The Diploma in child Counselling
Diploma in The Therapeutic & Educational Application of the Arts.
The Certificate in the Emotional Needs of the Child.
I offer weekly evening counselling sessions on Zoom and i run an online drop in session which i also run on Zoom during school holidays and half terms.
